Is Anyone Looking for 15 Minutes of Fame?

Tuesday, August 5th, 2008

Rarely a month goes by that I don’t talk with a reporter representing a national publication or wire service about various financial planning topics. In about half of those interviews, the reporters ask if they could talk with a client. Most of the requests revolve around talking about the benefits and experiences involved in various areas of financial planning.

One More Thought On My Stolen BlackBerry

Monday, June 23rd, 2008

As I re-read my earlier post on my stolen Blackberry, I thought of an important issue I didn’t address. I did not lose any information, as all of the data in my Blackberry is wirelessly synced with my office computers.

Also, and more importantly, no sensitive client information was divulged.

Why We Need Your Tax Return

Wednesday, June 11th, 2008

I’ll guess KFG clients may get weary at times with our continual reminders that we need a copy of your most recent tax return. Some of you may even wonder why we need it. Here is what we are doing when we receive your return:

• We verify and/or collect information such as social security numbers, your children’s names and social security numbers, addresses, your accountant’s information, etc.

KFG Enhances Financial Planning Software

Monday, April 14th, 2008

Okay, this may not seem like the most scintillating news, but it’s exciting to us. After many years of researching, waiting, researching, and waiting some more, we decided to implement a new financial planning software program. Our goal is to provide our clients with accurate and comprehensive financial advice. The new software package will help us continue that goal.

Inputting Your Basis on Transferred Investments into TD Ameritrade

Thursday, October 18th, 2007

When you receive your TD Ameritrade statements for October, you will see that cost basis is now listed for any investments, in non-retirement accounts, that were purchased at TD Ameritrade.

Any non-retirement investments that were transferred to TD Ameritrade will not have cost basis. However, TD Ameritrade allows you to add cost basis for those investments, using your password-protected TD Ameritrade online account.

Rick Attends and Presents to FPA National Convention

Monday, September 24th, 2007

When Ted and I found out our speech to the 2007 Financial Planning Association convention was scheduled on a Tuesday morning after the convention closed, we were a bit concerned that anyone would show up.  We were therefore delighted that our session was filled to capacity and we were able to communicate our latest information on integrated financial planning to 300 attendees.

Klontz Workshop a Sell-Out

Monday, September 24th, 2007

Our recent workshop for KFG couples was a sell out and a huge success, based on the rave reviews the attendees gave the experience. The workshop was designed for couples who have good marriages and want to take their coupleship to the next level.

As you may remember, Marcia and I were one of the lucky couples who participated in the workshop.
